North Central Texas College is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year with ample opportunities for our community to celebrate with us! Founded in 1924 by Randolph Lee Clark, NCTC is the oldest, continuously operating two-year college in Texas. NCTC began as Gainesville Junior College, an extension of the local public school system, in 3 rooms of the Newsome Dougherty Memorial High School building in Gainesville.

The school operated from 1924 to 1954 as Gainesville Junior College, Gainesville College from 1954-1961, Cooke County Junior College from 1961-1974, Cooke County College from 1974-1994, and North Central Texas College from 1994 to the present. Today, NCTC serves students at six campuses: its original campus in Gainesville, Corinth, Denton, Flower Mound, Bowie, and Graham. The most recent location, Champions Circle in south Denton County, opened in 2022, offering specialized industry training.
