Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT)
NCTC’s AAT degree is a pathway to obtaining your Texas Teaching Certification.
> PROGRAMS > TEACHER EDUCATION > ASSOCIATE OF ARTS IN TEACHING
The AAT degree is a transferable degree for students wanting to teach in the K-12 school system. You’ll complete the AAT degree at NCTC and then transfer to a university for your Bachelor’s degree and Texas Teaching Certification.
We work closely with partnering universities for seamless transfer opportunities without losing credits. Starting your teaching degree at NCTC is a smart economical choice and the first step to becoming a certified teacher in Texas.
Degree Plans
You have three choices of degree plan based on the area you want to teach. Each consists of 60 hours of both core curriculum and education specific courses and will take 4 long semesters to complete. Classes can be in-person on-campus or online. These degree plans are approved and supported by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
