Message from the Chancellor
Dr. G. Brent Wallace, Ph.D
As the Chief Executive Officer of the college, Dr. G. Brent Wallace is responsible for the college's implementation of policies as directed by the college's Board of Regents, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, Southern Association of Colleges Commission on Colleges, and the State of Texas.
Dr. Wallace joined NCTC in the fall of 2011 as the Vice President of Instruction/Chief Academic Officer and demonstrated his commitment to academic integrity and providing transformative opportunities to NCTC students. As VI, Dr. Wallace oversaw the development and implementation of the college's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). Also known as Project Xtreme Academic Makeover, this plan addresses students' college readiness in order to improve student learning in meaningful ways through the mission of transforming students’ academic behaviors and creating a contextual learning environment to ensure college readiness and improve success in core curriculum courses.
This transformation, in turn, reinforces and furthers the college’s broader vision of “becoming a recognized leader in higher education and a catalyst for economic, cultural, and community development” by enhancing the personal, professional, and intellectual development of students by emphasizing key academic behaviors and study skills.
As Chancellor, Dr. Wallace has also led the charge to regenerate old facilities and bring life back to NCTC campuses by securing new master plans that permit each campus to create its own identity.
Dr. Wallace also believes in partnerships between independent school districts, community colleges, industry and universities, including those between NCTC and Texas Woman’s University, University of North Texas, and Midwestern State University.
