Leadership Awards

The Emerging Leader Award is presented to an outstanding NCTC student who has proven their skills to exceed expectations in leadership development and service within the community.

The Outstanding Civic Engagement Award recognizes a student who has made significant contributions demonstrating extraordinary commitment in their service learning, community service, and/or philanthropic organizations, which enhance our community.

The Student Employee Award is presented to an NCTC work-study or part-time student from each campus who has demonstrated great work ethic, commitment to the college mission, professionalism, and goes above and beyond their job duties.

The Perseverance Award is bestowed to an individual who demonstrates exceptional character during times of extreme adversity. This honor is awarded when an individual demonstrates perseverance and serves as an inspiration to others. The recipient of this award must have exhibited both grace and determination in facing a formidable challenge.

Best New Organization Award is awarded to a registered student organization that began or rebooted in the past two years. This organization put forth the effort to enhance the student experience, hosted activities that addressed the group’s mission in a meaningful way and maintained strong and consistent operations.

The Community Service Project Award is presented to a student group affiliated with an NCTC program (i.e. Honors, PTK, Student Organizations, Etc…) which has made outstanding community service contributions to the local/surrounding community.

Outstanding Activity of the Year award is presented to the registered student organization which conceived, planned and implemented a program that is educational, and demonstrates innovation, care, excellence, and/or leadership.

Student Organization Leader of the Year recognizes an outstanding student that has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and whose significant contributions and hard work have impacted the NCTC community, regardless of their position within the organization. Their leadership and contributions exceed what is normally expected of an active participant.

The Student Organization of the Year Award is presented to a student organization which has made outstanding contributions to the campus community that is considered to go above the expectations of a student organization.

Student Organization Advisor of the Year recognizes the advisor whose ability to support, educate, and encourage the student organization goes above and beyond the expected norm. This advisor has demonstrated remarkable dedication to and support of the organization.
