The Construction trades have a lot of specialized skill groups. As a Construction Manager, you have to develop a blend of skills including business, electrical, plumbing, residential, and commercial projects. Construction Managers oversee projects that involve the planning, design, and overall progress of a project. The goal is to complete the project safely, on time, and within budget.

The Construction Management program equips the student with a varied skill set that is developed through a combination of theory and hands on skills. The program has a strong focus on a plumbing concentration. This allows students to understand plumbing aspects of a project while still having the skill set to manage the overall project.

PLUMBING

Plumbers are a targeted occupation by the local workforce boards and demand is high for those who are seeking a career in the plumbing field.

NCTC’s plumbing program gives you the skills necessary to begin a career as a Tradesman Plumber. A basic knowledge of blueprints, piping/material standards, residential construction, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, provides a foundation for success. The certificate is completed with a review of plumbing codes and standards. This certificate broadens the job opportunities for you as a plumber or for continuation into construction management program.

The Plumbing Program is an approved curriculum for the Tradesman Plumber license with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners.

Plumbing & Construction Management Degrees & Certificates

This program focuses on training in plumbing for residential, commercial, and industrial systems. Students will be instructed on soldering, blueprint reading, cutting/joining pipes, and interpreting national and local plumbing codes. Also, the students will master the understanding of all aspects of the plumbing industry’s planning, management, finance, technical and production skills, with underlying principles of technology, labor issues, community issues, and health, safety, and environmental issues.

Plumbing Basic Certificate

The program will teach you plumbing skills that you can apply to residential and commercial plumbing systems. You can use these skills in a variety of work environments where plumbing maintenance is needed. The program curriculum is aligned with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners tradesman plumber-limited license.

Construction Management Certificate

The Construction Management Level 1 Certificate can be completed with a combination of Online, hybrid, and in person classes. The program is designed to be completed in one year.

Construction Management AAS

The Construction Management AAS Degree can be completed with a combination of Online, hybrid, and in-person classes. The program is designed to be completed in two years.
