CNA PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The local workforce boards show a major need for CNAs throughout the state, and this program will certify you to work as a Nurse Aide in Texas. Many of our students take this program to prepare for nursing programs at NCTC. You will learn effective communication, vital signs recording, taking proper care of patients, and becoming a useful advocate for residents in long-term care centers.
In this Occupational Skills Award (OSA) program, instruction provides training as a caregiver to provide hands-on basic care of residents in a variety of healthcare settings. This program requires 100 contact hours, which includes 60 hours of Lecture/Lab hours and 40 hours of Clinical Externship. Our instructors are NATCEP approved who have worked in long-term care for many years. Upon successful completion of this program, you may earn a priority point toward admission into an NCTC Nursing program.
